“marimba sidetracks” is the first piece of a series called “sidetracks”. In this series all live-electronics build a kind of autonomous second player – not just background accompaniment. This virtual second player often acts like a competitor. This leads to disturbance, combat or exciting complementation.
The software, written for this piece was written in Max For Live. It includes a multi-bank live-sampler, a complex rhythm machine, several loop- and timbral effects.
